The motto of the responsible breeder is "Breed to Improve."
But what does this really mean?

The goal of each and every responsible breeder is to make each generation of dogs
better than the one that came before it- healthier, sounder, more talented and more beautiful,
while still preserving the characteristics that makes each breed unique.

This is a herculean task to be sure, and as every responsible breeder knows all  too well,
there is inevitably a lot of disappointment and heartbreak along the way.
Too often the rewards for breeding responsibly seem few and far between,
because just "breeding to win" is by far the easier path.

This page was designed to highlight those moments
when the efforts of the responsible breeder have been rewarded,
and to salute the breeders whose dedication and  perseverence produced them.
